Poor Amanda woke up this morning with a crusty nose, 100.2 fever and diarrhea. She’s not vomiting (thank God!), so I’m nursing her constantly and keeping a careful watch to make sure she doesn’t get dehydrated. I just want to make sure it’s not that nasty RSV virus that’s going around. She has a well baby appointment on Wednesday, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to give her any immunizations while she’s sick, so I’ll just use the appointment to let the doctor assess her. I’m not sure what her current weight is, but she’s starting to get too tall for her 9-month outfits. I prefer the footed sleepers because they’re warmer, but the feet are getting tight on her. They don’t make very many 12-month sleepers, because the babies wearing them are supposedly walking, so most come as tops and pants. They don’t factor in larger babies who aren’t even crawling yet, with chubby bellies that get pinched in a 12-month waistband. How did such a petite person as me get such big babies? I hate the month-based baby sizes. They should do them by weight instead, and provide “12-month” sizes for crawlers as well as walkers. Not all babies grow at the same rate!
