Eva is growing like a weed. Nearly everything she wears now is size 3T, and I recently had to move her up to the next size shoe (children’s 7). I let her use up all her size 6 diapers, so now we’ve switched to 3T/4T training pants. She’s recently started an irritating habit of repeating whatever she wants until she gets it. “Snack! Snack! Snack! Snack!”, on and on and on, even talking over me while I’m trying to answer, “in a minute” or “not now, you already had one” or “what would you like?” It really bugs me, and I always make her stop and ask nicely before giving her anything. If she won’t stop repeating herself, I make her sit in time-out, but sometimes she keeps on doing it, even from her time-out chair. Then I tell her she’s not getting anything until she’s quiet. Part of me suspects that she’s just testing and enjoying her new words and verbal abilities, while the other part thinks she’s being pushy to get what she wants. Boy, they sure know how to push buttons sometimes. Where do they learn that?
