I took the girls to Fred Meyer this week to get birthday presents for some upcoming parties, and bought Eva a new 24-piece Diego puzzle while we were there. I gave it to her as soon as we got home, thinking it would keep her busy for at least ½ an hour. Wrong! 5 minutes later she came out of the playroom, asking for another “puh-yulz”. She had finished already, all by herself! I told her we didn’t have any more, so she ran into the bedroom where the other presents were sitting on my bed, begging to play with them. When I told her that they weren’t for her, she started crying, of course. I sat her down and explained that we were going to a birthday party, and she could give the toys to the birthday boy or girl. “Ice cream?” she asked. “Yes,” I said. “Balloons?” “Yes.” “OK,” and she ran off, completely appeased by the idea of going to a party. I hope she’s as fine about it when it actually comes time to give those toys away!
