In the ongoing “saga of the underpants”, Eva is doing her best to have it both ways. She wants to wear her pretty underwear, and she’ll sit on the potty while watching cartoons, but when she feels the urge to go, she asks for a diaper instead. Being the fastidious person that she is, she hates to be wet and is afraid of having accidents. I can tell when it’s getting urgent because she’ll go to her bedroom and bring me a diaper with a pleading look on her face. “No, diapers are for bed time,” I tell her. “Use the potty. If you put on the diaper, you have to go to bed.” So we’ve had a couple of successes and a few accidents, but it appears we’re slowly making progress. At any rate, she gets a sticker whenever she tries the potty, so that seems to help.
