The first time I saw Mary Rice Hopkins was at a summer camp when I was 11, and I've loved her children's music ever since! She started writing songs for her kids in her living room, and soon her music was in demand at concerts all over the country. "Hippopotamus" is about all the fun animals God made. "Superman" is about how you don't have to be a superhero, because you're special just the way you are. "Big Steps, Little Feet" talks about how even little people can make a big difference. And then there are fun classics like "Matilda the Gorilla", "Gramma's House" and "Jammin' To Bed". We have some of her DVD's, and Eva likes to follow the hand motions or pick up her toy guitar and pretend to play along. A couple of them were made in the 80's and look a little dated, but little kids don't care. They just like the bright colors and catchy tunes.
