Not having a dishwasher for the first time in 6 years is kinda weird, but we’re adjusting pretty well. I soak dishes in a dishpan until I’m ready to wash them, but Eva likes to push a chair over to the sink and play in the water. She claims she’s “washing hands”. It’s amazing how not having a stackable washer and dryer in the middle of your kitchen makes it so much more spacious. J I wish I could say the same for the cabinets. We use the 5 cabinets for cooking ingredients and spices, dishes and mugs, kids’ plastic dinnerware and sippy cups, Tupperware, mixing and baking pans. Dave hung hooks for my pots and pans, and installed wall shelves for items related to wine, coffee, tea and cocoa (they don’t look so bad out in the open). We use a bookshelf for kitchen appliances and for Eva’s snacks. Still, there are a lot of items that are just going to have to stay packed until we can get some more cabinet space, like serving dishes and wine glasses.
