We’re finally moved into our new house! I hate moving, but the worst is over. My mom came up on Friday with my sister and three exchange students to help. Thank goodness! I really don’t know what I would have done without them. Amanda was feeling sick and would hardly let me put her down, so I hadn’t finished packing or cleaning up in preparation for the move. Dave was taking load after load in his truck, and his buddy Scott helped him move the big items. My mom and the kids helped clean up, line the cabinets with contact paper, and put away everything in the kitchen.
Several drawers of clothes got rained on in the transfer, and had to be put through the drier and folded again, but that appears to have been our only mishap. We’re slowly making our way through one box at a time, one room at a time. The girls are getting their first experience at sharing a room, but Amanda isn’t too thrilled about the crib. She still insists on sleeping with us, but maybe we can try again when she feels better. I found some blackout drapes that attach to any normal curtain, and put them up in their room to help block the bright light at nap time.
The blackout curtains sound like an excellent idea...maybe I need to try that. lol
