1/2/08 - Happy New Year 2008!

New Year's Eve was quiet for us, but enjoyable.  We went through the normal bath and bedtime routine for Eva, toasted with sparkling apple cider, and watched some TV while I tried to nurse Amanda to sleep.  It was a relaxing way to end the year. At least neither of us were sick, like the last couple years. We were in bed by midnight, knowing the babies wouldn't let us sleep in, but we heard our neighbors celebrating above us.  The next day there was a shattered brick in the entry way outside our door.  I'll have to add that to my list of weird things various neighbors have left there: candy wrappers, dirty underwear, and the remains of our smashed pumpkin.  Oh, to live in our own house again!

My brother, his wife and three kids are arriving for a visit today, before heading down to my parent’s house on Friday.  I haven’t seen them in a couple years, and they’ll be going back to China next month.  We’re hoping to meet my parents halfway in Eugene for one big family portrait before everyone goes their separate ways again.
