It started with chewing on her fists, but Amanda has developed a decided preference for her thumb, and seems to be sticking with it. Her lack of hand coordination means that she occasionally gags herself, or pokes herself in the eye with one of her other fingers, but it doesn't seem to discourage her. I don't really mind. I'd rather deal with that than a pacifier. At least her thumb is free and can't get lost, so I won't have to keep replacing it, or stumble around trying to find it in the dark at 2am because she can't sleep without it.
